The SCORE & Rating System
After years of traveling the globe in search of the world's most original and inspired hotels, we've developed a rigorous-yet-flexible rating system; one that will always lead you in the right direction.
World's Luxury Guide Hotel Collection includes hotels by invitation only. Every property is first reviewed, vetted, and visited before being assigned a Score by one of our industry experts. If the hotel's Score is high enough, they are invited to join the collection.
Calculating the Score
Hotels are included in World's Luxury Guide Hotel Collection by invitation only. Each property is first reviewed and vetted before finally being assigned a score.
During inspection, properties are assigned ratings (on a scale of 1 to 10) in ten categories that make up their overall score:
- Service
- Rooms
- Food & Beverage
- Spa & Fitness
- Attention to Detail
- Generosity & Value
- Wow / Hip Factor
- Architecture & Design
- Location
- Fit to Promise
The individual ratings from the above categories combine to form a hotel's overall score. Therefore, the maximum score a hotel can achieve is 100.
Determining the Rating
Next, to help you compare our assessment of a hotel to other industry ratings, we translate the Score into a Rating.
Rating
One final thing to note is that we re-inspect all properties regularly and any hotel that fails to meet our standards is removed from the Collection. Feel free to contact us with any questions about a hotel's Score or Rating.
